Experiential Learning:As a Student Equipment Manager, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in athletics operations by supporting EOU’s athletic programs and working directly with coaches, staff, and student-athletes. This position offers practical training in inventory management, equipment maintenance, and event preparation while developing key transferable skills such as time management, problem-solving, and teamwork. The role provides a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning to real-world applications, especially for students pursuing studies in sports management, business, or physical education. Students will leave this position with professional skills that are highly relevant to future careers in athletics, recreation, and operations management.
Professional Development:Students will receive on-the-job training in inventory systems, laundry procedures for athletic equipment, and event setup processes. They will be coached on prioritization and multitasking, helping them build professional behaviors essential in any career. Regular feedback will support their growth throughout the position.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Track and manage athletic equipment and uniform inventory
– Distribute gear to athletes and staff, ensuring proper fit and safe use
– Maintain and repair gear as needed
– Manage laundry cycles for uniforms and practice wear
– Assist with athletic event setup and takedown
– Support the Head Equipment Manager with daily responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications:– Must be in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher).
– Must have Federal Work Study eligibility.
– Ability to follow directions and manage tasks independently
Preferred Qualifications:– Basic knowledge of sports equipment
– Dependable and punctual
– Interest in sports or athletic operations

– Attention to detail
– Ability to multitask and adapt in fast-paced environments
