Job Duration Beginning Fall 2025 through the academic year. Working during enrollment breaks is welcomed but not expected.
Type of work schedule Flexible schedule – agreed upon.
Primarily weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., based on student and supervisor availability. Occasional evenings or weekends may be requested during events.
Estimated numbers of hours per week8–20 hours per week
Experiential Learning:Students will develop skills in office management, communication, and customer service. They will gain insight into the operations of a collegiate athletic department and understand how teamwork and adaptability contribute to success in a fast-paced setting.
Professional Development:Students will strengthen communication, time management, and administrative skills through hands-on experience. Opportunities to assist with event planning and department projects will further build leadership and organizational abilities.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Assist the Athletic Director with scheduling, maintaining calendars, and preparing documents
– Draft and edit correspondence including memos and emails
– Organize departmental files and maintain confidential records
– Support planning and logistics for athletic events and meetings
– Take notes and prepare summaries from departmental meetings
– Assist with communication between coaches, staff, and the Athletic Director
– Conduct basic research to support projects or initiatives
– Help with event preparation, such as facility setup or materials
Minimum Qualifications:– Strong organizational and time management skills
– Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
– Basic computer and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:– Prior office or administrative experience
– Interest in athletics or student support services
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:– Clear written and verbal communication
– Flexibility and willingness to learn
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
