EOU Game Management / Operations Student Assistant

Assist EOU athletic staff with game management operations, including but not limited to Live stream/video, music, game day flags set-up, media table, and many other responsibilities. Student assistants will also assist in weekly logistics as a part of the EOU Athletic Department as it hosts intercollegiate competitions. Minimum QualificationsEligibility Requirements:
● Attending EOU and enrolled in at least 6 Undergraduate credits per term (on campus or online)
● Have the ability to work nights and weekends
● Federal Work Study Award accepted, but not required

● Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills when working with both colleagues, students, and the public
● Prior work in an athletic setting or similar work environment preferred, but not required
● Professional work ethic and independent time management skills
● Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to respond quickly
● Flexibility and positive attitude about working in a fast-paced environment
● Detail oriented on various tasks and projects
● Demonstrated experience working with diverse student and community populations preferred

Potential Learning Outcomes:
● Students will be able to develop interpersonal skills by working with a diverse populations
● Students will learn the key components of working in a team environment, and how to accomplish action items through an effective and timely process
● Students will learn tools and develop effective skills in order to work autonomously, and problem-solve in a fast paced environment.

Position SummaryAssist EOU athletic staff with game management operations, including but not limited to Live stream/video, music, game day flags set-up, media table, and many other responsibilities. Position DutiesDuties and Responsibilities:
● Maintain professional demeanor at all times and accept the department of athletics missions, values, and goals. As such you will demonstrate a commitment to fostering and supporting an environment that honors diversity, equity, and inclusion.
● Ability to work on weekends and evenings
● Have incredible professionalism during games (i.e., take pride in work, respect for colleagues and fans, no cell phone use while working)
● Represent EOU Athletics with a positive spirit
● Uphold standards of conduct and have the ability to meet all department rules as a student worker for EOU athletics and the University
Live Stream Assistant/Video Operator
● Assists the sports information department with running camera, and/or live stream computers during home athletic events. Primary responsibilities include:
Follow SID guidelines for filming games and following the live actions, running the live stream computer (updating score, managing stream connection), music coordinator
● Assist the sports information department with creating and editing playlists and running music during home athletic events. Primary responsibilities include:
Run music during appropriate times for home events (music is appropriate/clean edits, timeliness of playing songs to engage fans), Game Day Flag Setup & Take Down
● Assist the sports information department with setting up and taking down EOU game day flags around campus and the La Grande community during home athletic events. Primary responsibilities include: Putting up flags in designated areas in a timely manner (by 7:30 a.m.) on campus and town with attention to detail and presentation of flags; Taking down flags after ALL home events are completed on a given day, returning flags to Quinn Coliseum storage room
Scoreboard Operator
● Assist the sports information department with running the scoreboard and clock during home athletic events. Primary responsibilities include:
Running the scoreboard during primarily volleyball matches by maintaining correct score and running clock during timeouts & breaks
Promotions Assistant
● Assist the sports information department with creating and running game day promotions during home athletic events. Primary responsibilities include: Gathering volunteers for promotional activities during games; Running in-game promotions and contests; Throwing/shooting T-Shirts into crowds for EOU touchdowns, blocks, etc.; General Game Management Worker
● Assist the sports information department with any necessary work during home athletic events including, but not limited to, taking and selling tickets, ball rolling, guarding entrances, promotions, scoreboard operations, live streaming, camera operating, running music, etc.. Primary responsibilities include: Taking tickets, printing tickets, selling tickets, and selling programs; Watching entrances to field/court, taking tickets, working with fans; Retrieving balls that are hit out of play, working with players and officials to keep games running at desired pace
