Experiential Learning:Students will learn how to facilitate live sound mixing, assist in studio recording, and support the use of recording equipment and software. This role provides direct application of classroom learning to real-world settings in music and performance. Essential skills such as communication, technical troubleshooting, and professional collaboration will be developed.
Professional Development:Training includes practical application in audio labs, studios, and theaters. Students must have completed MUS140 (Electronic Music) or demonstrate comparable skills. Ongoing mentorship from faculty and staff provides opportunities for continuous learning and feedback.
Summary of Job Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions:– Act as a lab technician in the Music Lab, assisting with recording equipment and software.
– Support faculty, staff, and peers in using recording technology in the Music Lab and Recording Studio.
– Assist with live sound and audio needs in campus theaters.
– Collaborate with supervisor and faculty on technical projects.
Minimum Qualifications:– Must be enrolled at EOU with Federal Work Study eligibility.
– Completion of MUS140 (Electronic Music) or comparable skills/experience.
Preferred Qualifications:– Previous experience with live sound or studio recording.
– Interest in music technology, audio production, or related fields.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:– Familiarity with audio equipment and recording software.
– Strong communication and collaboration skills.
– Ability to problem-solve and assist peers in a technical environment.
