About Dr. Evans

In fall 2011, I returned to my undergraduate alma mater, Eastern Oregon University, as Assistant Professor of English/Writing and Director of the Writing Center and Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC). As such, I not only teach college writing, but I provide ongoing training for writing tutors. The Writing Center is open to all students, and in order to extend service to our many on campus, online, and on-site students, we have added online scheduling and a new tutoring format, synchronous online tutoring (SOT-Writing). In my WAC role, I am available to consult with faculty on writing projects such as integrating writing into courses and curriculum, disciplinary writing assignments, and Gen Ed assessment planning and analysis. In addition, I have given many presentations on rural rhetorics, composition, and writing center research at international, national, and regional conferences. My publications include poetry and creative nonfiction, and peer reviewed articles on writing center, writing assessment, and composition research.
