When to fill out an Exam Request form

Step One: For students taking EOU Online course(s) that require proctored exams, please begin by establishing a Proctor for these course exams.  After you have established an approved proctor, please submit an Exam Request form as early in the term as possible.    You will know that your request has been submitted properly via a confirmation email reply.

Step Two: You will also receive an email with instructions for taking your exams after your submitted Exam Request has been processed.  Your exam request can take up to two weeks to process.  Please contact your proctor after receiving the exam instructions to schedule your first exam appointment.  Your proctor will now have a similar email with passwords which allow you access to your exam(s) after you present to them a picture ID card.

Step Three: Please check your syllabus to verify when your exam is to be available to access in your Blackboard course shell.  Some professors allow access at any time and others schedule the exam to appear only at specific times.  Even though your exam request was processed and your proctor has received the password(s), it doesn’t mean that the professor has made the exam available.

Step Four:  When accessing the exam(s) via your proctor, the EOU Internet Technicians recommend using the Google Chrome or Mozilla/Firefox browser on your proctor’s PC.  Please confirm with your chosen proctor that they have or will download the free browser to their PC.

Some exams require the Respondus Lockdown Browser (please check your course syllabus).  If so, you are permitted to download the free browser onto your own laptop or onto your proctor’s PC prior to testing.
