Media Services Facilities

ELLUMINATE

As web-based conferencing begins to take the lead in distance education, EOU has begun to use the Elluminate web conference system. This is an exciting application which is superior to IP video in delivering content. This service is not dependent on expensive IP video facilities, and can deliver content to anyone with a broadband connection, from anyone with a broadband connection. The Media Services facilities are located in EOU's Inlow Hall. The large Lecture Hall can hold 42 people, and the smaller Seminar Room will accomodate 6.

• Control Room for the large Lecture Hall

Each room may operate separate programs simultaneously. Computers are available in each room, allowing web access, Power Point, or other types of computer-based presentations to be seamlessly integrated into presentations. Regular overhead materials may also be used, with the presenter having control of the overhead cameras.

Presenters have wireless microphones available, and there are microphones available for audience participation.
