Scheduled appointments are available at various times throughout the week, from Week 1 through the Friday before finals week. Drop-In tutoring is also available, providing students with additional opportunities to work with writing tutors during daytime and evening hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click <a title=\"On-Campus Tutoring\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/eou.mywconline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> to schedule an appointment and view current drop-in hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Synchronous Online EOU Writing Tutors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The EOU Writing Center provides synchronous online tutoring for both on campus students and completely online students. Sign up for an appointment and select the remote access option. At the designated time, an EOU Writing Tutor will meet with you for your tutoring session via video conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click <a title=\"On-Campus Tutoring\" href=\"https:\/\/eou.mywconline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> to schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Asynchronous Online Writing Tutors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The EOU Writing Center also offers <a href=\"https:\/\/eou.mywconline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">synchronous online tutoring<\/a>, which is the preferred method of tutoring for online&nbsp;EOU students. For EOU students who are unable to meet with a tutor on campus or remotely via video conferencing, asynchronous&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/etutoringonline.org\/login.cfm?institutionid=39&amp;returnPage=&amp;institution=EASTERN_OREGON_UNIVERSITY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eTutoring<\/a> is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For Graduate Students Only<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduate students who are interested in scheduling a tutorial online can submit a paper to eTutoring or contact the Writing Center Director at <a href=\"mailto:srysdam@eou.edu\">srysdam@eou.edu<\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>for special arrangements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Writing Support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Group writing tutoring with an EOU writing tutor may be&nbsp;available&nbsp;to EOU students by special arrangement. For addition support, contact the Writing Tutor Coordinator, Ryan Scariano at <a href=\"mailto:rscariano@eou.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rscariano@eou.edu<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Client Report Form \/ \u201cBlue Slip\u201d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Any student who works with a writing tutor through the EOU Writing Center can request a proof of session from their tutor. This is called a \u201cClient Report Form\u201d or a Blue Slip. from their writing tutor. These forms can be given to an instructor as proof that the student worked with a writing tutor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Writing Tutors Do<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Writing Tutors <em>will<\/em> give you feedback on:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>interpreting assignment prompts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reading through drafts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>thesis, focus, and audience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>using and documenting sources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>finding writing resources<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>reading assigned texts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>writing in any discipline<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>identifying and correcting patterns of error<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>writing accountability to complete short assignments and readings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Writing Tutors <em>will not<\/em>:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>edit (instead they help writers edit their own work)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>correct (they are not the course instructor)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>proofread (they will guide you in proofreading your draft)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>rewrite your paper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Things students sometimes bring to writing tutor appointments:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a draft of your writing\/project (if you have a draft)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the assignment prompt (if possible)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an outline (if you have one)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an assigned reading<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>your ideas (especially if you haven\u2019t completed a draft yet)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Oftentimes writing tutors work with students and their writing in draft form. However, writing tutors can help support students at any point in the writing process, from reading through the assignment prompt to generating ideas for writing and creating outlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to find a Math Tutor, Group Study, or Individual Session<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Learning Center supports student learning in many ways.
