Online and On-Site Students
The Writing Center provides two types of writing tutoring for online and on-site students:
eWriting Lab (eTutoring)
The eWriting Lab offers both synchronous and asynchronous tutoring.
- The eWriting Lab’s asynchronous access allows you to submit a draft of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive your work back with a tutor’s response within 24-48 hours.
- Synchronous writing tutoring is available during limited hours. Look for the Tutor Schedule on eTutoring to see when synchronous writing tutors will be available. Communication is conducted through audio and whiteboard features. You will need to have the recommended headset to be able to talk with the writing tutor.
To log in and navigate to the eWriting Lab, follow login instructions at EOU’s eTutoring main page.
Synchronous Online Tutoring (SOT) can be arranged with an EOU writing tutor working in the on-campus Writing Center:
- For online or on-site students who would benefit from meeting with a writing tutor on Skype or Google Hangouts, call or email the Writing Center director to make arrangements (see Contacts).
