Union County Warming Station is Moving Forward
The Union County Warming Station is finally moving forward with their original plans to open for the winter in the location on Third Street. The building permits that were required to open, but halted by the appeal, were just submitted. According to Cody Vela, the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Warming Station, the doors will be opening in a few weeks at the earliest. Once they are open, La Grande will again have a “welcoming, safe and compassionate place where all people can stay the night” during the cold winter.
