{"id":1086,"date":"2024-07-19T08:21:17","date_gmt":"2024-07-19T15:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/testing\/?page_id=1086"},"modified":"2024-08-15T10:21:44","modified_gmt":"2024-08-15T17:21:44","slug":"respondus-monitoring","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/testing\/respondus-monitoring\/","title":{"rendered":"Respondus Monitoring"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>What is Respondus Lockdown Browser?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your professor may require that their online proctored exams use the LockDown Browser.\u00a0 This is a locked browser that prevents you from printing, copying, going to another URL, or accessing other applications during an assessment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Beginning a Quiz<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Close all programs, unless one is used to connect you to the Internet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Log into Canvas with a regular browser, select the course and navigate to the quiz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. If LockDown Browser (RLB) has not previously been installed, you will be prompted to download and install the browser (the RLB link is also available on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eou.edu\/testing\">Testing Center<\/a> web page).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Return to the Canvas quiz and open it to launch LockDown Browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. If prompted to close a blocked program (e.g. screen capture, instant messaging), choose Yes. Note: Once a test has been started with Respondus LockDown Browser, you cannot exit until the test has been submitted for grading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Quizzes using Respondus Monitor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may be required to use LockDown Browser with a webcam (\u201cRespondus Monitor.\u201d), which will record you during the exam. Your computer must have a functioning webcam and microphone. A STRONG broadband connection is also required.  This system is providing you with a proctored test session and requires a $15 annual fee for unlimited exams, 24\/7.  You will be required to use a credit\/debit card to make this purchase before beginning your exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At this point, the Startup Sequence for the webcam begins. You will first need to review and agree to the Terms of Use. &nbsp;&nbsp;The Webcam Check will confirm that your webcam and microphone are working properly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The remaining steps of the Startup Sequence will depend on settings chosen by your instructor.
