Academic Game Plan (AGP)
1. How does this activity complement the University, Student Affairs, or unit’s mission, or meet the unit’s objectives?
The AGP complements the Athletic Departments mission by providing an avenue for students to engage themselves more fully in their academic aspirations and, thereby, fulfilling the objective of reflecting high standards of studentship, sportsmanship, fair play, and concern for the individual and community. All student participants and department personnel are dedicated to academic and athletic excellence at the conference, regional and national levels.

4. Write the student learning outcome statement for this activity.
By participating in the AGP, students will learn to execute a game plan for academic success, with special emphasis on classroom positioning, note taking skills, and techniques for reading, review and preparation. Utilizing a three-ring notebook to organize each students semester game plan allows students to track upcoming assignments, tests and quizzes, store all notes, class handouts, finished tests and completed assignments, and keep a running scoreboard which monitors their individual progress in each class.
5. How will the achievement of this learning outcome be evaluated, measured, or assessed? Describe measures to be used.
As a result of participation in the AGP, individual student achievement will be measured by a .20 GPA increase from fall term to winter term. In the second year of the student-athlete’s participation, the student will be able to realize an additional .20 GPA from their previous year’s academic GPA.
As a result of participation in the AGP, 70% (25) of the participating student-athletes (team) will achieve an academic personal record (highest GPA a student-athlete has achieved in a given semester) in the spring term.
