Student Internship Opportunities
Opportunities are widespread throughout Oregon for both learning and adding capacity to local communities and businesses as we all work toward economic stabilization and growth. Many, if not most, smaller rural cities and towns have need for enhancement, repair or replacement of infrastructure, assistance in records management and municipal operations, and/or updates to city/county management and planning systems. Likewise, small and emerging business significantly contributes to local economies and there is need for start-up and development assistance.
EOU student interns, guided by municipal staff and RSC liaisons adjunct to EOU, and monitored by key EOU faculty, can contribute useful service and products to the various and multidisciplinary arenas of need in the region and state, while gaining valuable experience and collecting academic credit relevant to their degree programs.
Supporting and Sustaining Eastern Oregon communities and business through collegiate internships that will provide the student with real-world experience, to develop real-world skill sets, extend student academic learning, and create education-to-career opportunities. The program will be organized around the applied concepts of Economy, Environment and Equity.
