{"id":242,"date":"2016-07-26T15:12:28","date_gmt":"2016-07-26T22:12:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/gold\/?page_id=242"},"modified":"2024-09-16T09:33:01","modified_gmt":"2024-09-16T16:33:01","slug":"benefits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/rotc\/benefits\/","title":{"rendered":"Benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>When available, ROTC scholarship cadets receive the following;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full tuition including books and fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monthly STIPEND; $420<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No out-of-state tuition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP); earn E5 pay while earning your degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dorm scholarships offered when available<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reservist and Veterans receive up to 15 credits hours (Service-to-country Scholarship Guardsmen)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) Scholarship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The GRFD Scholarship is for individuals with prior military service and would like to obtain a commission in the&nbsp;Army Reserve. These 2-year or 3-year scholarships allow cadets to receive scholarship benefits. Candidates are selected for curricular accomplishment, not for financial need. If you receive a GRFD, you\u2019re required to enroll in an&nbsp;ROTC&nbsp;course and enlist in the&nbsp;Army Reserve&nbsp;in the Simultaneous Membership Program if you\u2019re not currently a member. Upon graduation, you must accept a commission, complete the&nbsp;Officer&nbsp;Basic Course and serve a specified time in the&nbsp;Army Reserve or National Guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Minuteman Scholarship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This scholarship covers full tuition and fees or $10,000 for room and board in return for a service commitment. Scholarship recipients may also be eligible for a yearly book allowance of up to $1,200 and a monthly $420 living stipend. In order to qualify for this program, you must be a high school or current college student. You must also be willing to agree to a service commitment. As part of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goarmy.com\/rotc\/enroll\/enlisted.html\">Simultaneous Membership Program<\/a>, Minuteman Scholarship recipients will earn a salary and train with an&nbsp;Army Reserve&nbsp;or National Guard unit.
