One course may be audited per term. Individuals auditing courses are not expected to complete assignments or take examinations. Both admitted students, staff\/faculty and community members (non-admitted students) may audit courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Auditing as a staff\/faculty member<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Staff\/Faculty members can choose to audit a course, but are required to&nbsp;fill out the&nbsp;<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/hr\/staff-fee-privileges\/\" target=\"_blank\">Staff Fee Benefit&nbsp;<\/a>form located on the Human Resources (HR) website. Please return the completed &#8216;Staff Fee Benefit&#8221; form to <em>hr@eou.edu<\/em> for processing. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only 1 discount per employee, per term.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Staff\/Faculty members can audit 1 course per term if space is available in the course and with the instructors&nbsp;approval. Instructor approval can be obtained by email or the instructor can sign the hard copy registration form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Staff\/Faculty can register for a course through their Mountie Hub portal or by submitting a <a style=\"font-weight: bold;color: #2576bf\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/registrar\/files\/2014\/04\/REGISTRATION-FORM-march-2014-locked.docx\" target=\"_blank\">Registration Form<\/a> to <em>add.drop@eou.edu<\/em>.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fees associated with the course will be charged, but no tuition is charged when 1 course is audited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Staff &amp; Faculty cannot&nbsp;audit a course as &#8220;community members&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the HR &#8220;Staff Fee Benefit&#8221; paperwork is confirmed by HR and a copy of the instructors approval to &#8220;Audit&#8221; the course has been submitted to hr@eou.edu and the Registrar&#8217;s office (<em>add.drop@eou.edu<\/em>) the grading mode will be changed and the tuition will be reversed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Auditing as a community member<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Community Members wanting to audit a course for no tuition charge must wait until the\u00a0<strong>first<\/strong>\u00a0day of the term to register. Community members are allowed to audit <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">one<\/span> on-campus course tuition\u00a0free if there is space available in the course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community Members who register themselves for a course (or wait-list for a course) will not be eligible to receive the tuition discount. Registration must be processed in the Registrar&#8217;s office the first week of the term to receive the tuition discount.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community members must fill out a&nbsp;<a style=\"font-weight: bold;color: #2576bf\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/registrar\/files\/2014\/04\/REGISTRATION-FORM-march-2014-locked.docx\" target=\"_blank\">Registration Form<\/a>, sign it and email (<em>add.drop@eou.edu<\/em>) or bring it to the Registrar\u2019s Office during the first week of the term. The Registrar\u2019s office then verifies seat availability and manually adjusts the registration to reflect the reduced tuition. (All class fees will be charged to the student\u2019s account, but tuition will not be applied.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Charges for special materials, if any, will be posted the members account after registration is processed and are due by Friday the first week of the term.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the community member hasn&#8217;t ever been a student at EOU, or hasn&#8217;t attended a course in the last 3 terms, a&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/admissions\/apply\/\" target=\"_blank\">Non-Admit <\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/admissions\/apply\/\" target=\"_blank\">A<\/a><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/admissions\/apply\/\" target=\"_blank\">pplication Form<\/a> will need to be filled out and&nbsp;the application fee paid to Admissions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community members interested in auditing an OUT course with a community member discount (any course with the OUT subject) must receive instructor and dean approval and register for the course the first day of classes through the registrar&#8217;s office as outlined above. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community members\u00a0can only receive\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">one<\/span> tuition free class per person, per term.
