During the second through the fourth weeks of the term, student may add classes at the discretion of the instructor, who must provide a signature on a <a href=\"https:\/\/success.eou.edu\/register\/Add.Drop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Registration Form<\/a>. Thereafter, only the College Dean may approve exceptions. In order to register for a class that is suppressed you will need to contact the instructor via email and request permission to join the class. The instructor (if approves) will give you an \u2018override\u2019 in the system that will allow you to then register yourself for the course. Alternatively your email permission to enter the course from the instructor can be forwarded to\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #2576bf;\" href=\"mailto:add.drop@eou.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">add.drop@eou.edu<\/a><\/span>\u00a0along with the completed online fillable\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/success.eou.edu\/register\/Add.Drop\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/success.eou.edu\/register\/Add.Drop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">registration form<\/span><\/a><\/span>. Send the email from your EOU email account, and no physical signature will be required on the registration form. Upon receipt, our office will manually add you to the class roster.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Prerequisite error<\/span><\/strong>: means you do not meet the prerequisite required to register for the course. Mountie Hub will tell you what courses are missing or you can look at the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/catalog.eou.edu\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"http:\/\/catalog.eou.edu\" target=\"_blank\">academic catalog<\/a> to see the course description and the prerequisite requirements <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Restriction error<\/span>:<\/strong>&nbsp;means there is something restricting you from registering for the class. <em>Level restriction<\/em> &#8211; the student level freshman, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate. <em>Attribute restriction<\/em> &#8211; some online classes require students to be designated online students to register. <em>Field of study restriction<\/em> &#8211; program you are getting your degree in. If you have a restriction error you will need to contact the instructor and receive approval from them for an &#8216;override&#8217; so you can register yourself for the class.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Closed Section error<\/span>:&nbsp;<\/strong>means the class is full (see below) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h3 id=\"at-1683\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\">The class I want to register for is closed\/full<\/h3><div id=\"ac-1683\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Some classes that are full\/closed have wait-listing capabilities, click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/registrar\/waitlisting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here to see information on wait-listing<\/a>. If a closed course is not wait-listed then you need to send an email to the instructor requesting approval to join the class.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For non wait-list courses you need to complete and attach the online fill-able registration form to this request. Send the email from your EOU email account and no physical signature will be required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the instructor approves, he\/she should forward all registration documents (registration form and instructor permission email) to the Dean of the college for approval (college deans listed below).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Dean will then send all documents to the Registrar\u2019s office for processing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>**NOTE** if a course is wait-listed you will ONLY go on the wait-list if you follow these steps, you will not be registered for the course.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/success.eou.edu\/register\/Add.Drop\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/success.eou.edu\/register\/Add.Drop\">Request to register<\/a> **Additional information (<em>if the instructor returns approval to you without forwarding to the Dean: (if this happens, it does\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong>\u00a0mean that your request has been denied.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the class is within the&nbsp;<strong>College of Business<\/strong>, you will forward your instructor approval and completed registration for to&nbsp;Scott McConnell&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:smcconnell@eou.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">smcconnell@eou.edu<\/a>.&nbsp;Please be sure that you are forwarding the approval from the instructor along with your completed registration form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the class is within the&nbsp;<strong>College of Education<\/strong>, you will forward your instructor approval and completed registration for to&nbsp;Rae Ette Newman&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:rnewman@eou.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rnewman@eou.edu<\/a>.&nbsp;Please be sure that you are forwarding the approval from the instructor along with your completed registration form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the class is within the&nbsp;<strong>College of Arts, Humanities and Social Science<\/strong>, you will forward your instructor approval and completed registration for to&nbsp;Nate Lowe&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:nlowe@eou.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nlowe@eou.edu<\/a>. Please be sure that you are forwarding the approval from the instructor along with your completed registration form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the class is within the&nbsp;<strong>College of&nbsp;STM\/Health Science<\/strong>&nbsp;you will forward your instructor approval and completed registration for to&nbsp;Darren Dutto&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:ddutto@eou.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ddutto@eou.edu<\/a>&nbsp;for approval. Please be sure that you are forwarding the approval from the instructor along with your completed registration form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the Dean approves your request, they will return all approvals and registration documents to our office (<a href=\"mailto:add.drop@eou.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">add.drop@eou.edu<\/a>) and we will register you for the class. You will not receive an email notifying you of the registration but you will be able to see it on your schedule in Mountie-Hub once it has been added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>ALL completed documents must be sent to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:add.drop@eou.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">add.drop@eou.edu<\/a>.&nbsp;(No registration forms will be processed when sent to registrar@eou.edu)<\/strong><\/h5>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h3 id=\"at-1684\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\">I need to drop or withdraw from my classes<\/h3><div id=\"ac-1684\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p><strong>Weeks 1 &#8211; 4:<\/strong> <br>Students may drop a course through their Mountie Hub account. Drop fees will be assessed in accordance with the fee policies outlined in the EOU Student Financial Services drop\/withdrawal refund schedule. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/student-financial-services\/deadlines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Drop\/Withdrawal Refund Schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weeks 5 &#8211; 10:<\/strong>&nbsp;<em>There are three types of withdrawals:<\/em> <br><strong>Withdrawal from a Course:<\/strong><br>A student may withdraw from an individual course from Saturday after Week 4 through Friday of Week 10 (the Friday before finals week). A grade of \u201cW\u201d will be recorded on the student\u2019s transcript.<br><strong>Withdrawal from All Courses:<\/strong><br>A student may withdraw from all registered courses at any time during the term through Friday of Week 10 (the Friday before finals week).<br><strong>Withdrawal from the University:<\/strong><br>A student may withdraw from the University at any time during the term through Friday of Week 10 (the Friday before finals week) by completing the Registration Form and submitting it to <a>add.drop@eou.edu<\/a> with a request to withdraw from all courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click here for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/success.eou.edu\/register\/Add.Drop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Registration Form<\/a> to withdraw from a\/all course(s).\u00a0 Fees will be assessed in accordance with the fee policies stated in the EOU Student Financial Services <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eou.edu\/student-financial-services\/deadlines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">drop\/withdrawal refund schedule<\/a>. <a name=\"su\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h3 id=\"at-1685\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\">What is Satisfactory\/Unsatisfactory grading?<\/h3><div id=\"ac-1685\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>Some courses are built as satisfactory\/unsatisfactory grading. If you are taking a graded course you have the option to elect the S\/U option for the course if it is not required for your major or minor, the student must file the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/eou.edu\/spreadsheet\/viewform?formkey=dG85YjNvOGx2MEt0T1VqbjN6NE4yWXc6MQ#gid=0\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/a\/eou.edu\/spreadsheet\/viewform?formkey=dG85YjNvOGx2MEt0T1VqbjN6NE4yWXc6MQ#gid=0\" target=\"_blank\">request form<\/a> with the Registrar&#8217;s Office. Of the 180 term hours required for the bachelor&#8217;s degree, you may elect up to 36 for S\/U (courses offered only on an S\/U basis are not included in the 36-hour limit). The grade of S indicates a grade comparable to a grade of C- or better. An S\/U grade may be elected for any course except those used to meet specific program requirements, unless it is allowed by the academic college offering the course. If a required course is offered only on an S\/U basis, it may be counted in the major program. If students have questions regarding which courses can be taken S\/U, they should see their faculty adviser If you are repeating a course to raise a grade, a grade of &#8220;U&#8221; is not considered to be a higher grade than a &#8220;D&#8221; or &#8220;F&#8221;. A U grade is not counted toward degree progress. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-pb-accordion-item c-accordion__item js-accordion-item no-js\" data-initially-open=\"false\" data-click-to-close=\"true\" data-auto-close=\"true\" data-scroll=\"false\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\"><h3 id=\"at-1686\" class=\"c-accordion__title js-accordion-controller\" role=\"button\">I am a non-admitted student<\/h3><div id=\"ac-1686\" class=\"c-accordion__content\">\n<p>A non-admitted student is a person who feels academically qualified to enroll for classes at EOU but does not desire to be admitted to the university. Non-admit status is specifically designed for a person who desires to take a limited number of courses, often to transfer back to another school for degree completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Not admitted students cannot earn a degree or certificate from Eastern Oregon University.<strong>&nbsp; <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-admitted students are not eligible to receive federal financial aid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-admitted student are allowed to take up to 8 credits hours per academic term, summer term is an exception and non-admit students can take up to 21 credits.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If a non-admit student wants to take more than 8 credits winter, spring or fall terms an email can be sent to admissions@eou.edu requesting permission to take additional credits.&nbsp; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-admitted students are not required to submit official transcripts to EOU. Non-admit students can run into registration issues with course pre-requisites errors. If students run into pre-requisite errors students are encouraged to connect with course instructors about those errors.
