ASTEO Scholar Michael Luttrell
Michael Luttrell is a senior at Eastern Oregon University. He attended Central Oregon Community College and Oregon State University before transferring to EOU, and is a graduate of Grant Union Junior/Senior High School.
Hometown: John Day, Ore.
Major: Mathematics
Why did you apply to become an ASTEO Scholar?
“I applied because I have a strong interest in mathematics, and working full-time while attending school full-time was a challenge. The ASTEO scholarship made it so I don’t have to work full-time anymore.”
What are you looking forward to the most at EOU?
“Math Club, as well as my capstone project throughout the year. I love the small class sizes and how much interest the math professors show in the success of their students.”
About ASTEO:
ASTEO stands for Advancing Science and Technology in Eastern Oregon and was established with a grant from the National Science Foundation’s S-STEM program. Eligible scholars may receive up to $7,500 annually for tuition and fees, depending on unmet need.
