EOU Climbing Wall


The Climbing Wall is now open to the general public on a reservation-only basis.


For Summer 2021 appointments can be scheduled for either Tuesdays or Thursdays between the hours of 4 to 8pm. To book an appointment, please visit: https://eououtdoor.youcanbook.me

A maximum of 12 persons will be allowed at any one time. Climbers will be required to adhere to strict infectious disease protocols including mandatory face coverings.

The following guidelines apply:

  • You MUST schedule an appointment in order to use the facility

  • A maximum of 12 climbers in the facility at any one time
  • The facility is open to the general public which includes reservations for birthday parties, church groups, non-profit organizations, and school groups.
  • All climbers will be required to participate in a COVID-19 screening procedure prior to admittance into the facility. Denial of admittance may be determined based on results of screening
  • Anyone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms will not be allowed in the facility or will be asked to vacate the premises. Campus security will be notified in event of non-compliance
  • All climbers MUST sign a document stating they will adhere to all EOU and OAP infectious disease guidelines and protocols. Failure to adhere will result in removal from facility and loss of climbing privileges
  • All climbers MUST wear an approved face covering at all times at the climbing wall and while indoors in Quinn
  • Climbers will be required to only climb and belay with one designated partner
  • Climbers will be required to maintain 6′ spacing from any other climbing party
  • Climbers will be required to use hand sanitizer (provided) after each climb and/or belay
  • No loose chalk or chalk bags. Only liquid chalk will be allowed. Liquid chalk is available for purchase.
  • Climbers are encouraged to provide their own harness and shoes
  • Rental gear is available

The EOU climbing wall is open by reservation for special events and groups during the school year and summer. We host birthday parties, church groups, summer camps, and other private events. Contact the OAP for additional info. 

The wall is located inside Quinn Coliseum in the upstairs balcony of the main gym.

Come up even if you don’t have any experience – there’s staff willing to show you exactly how it works! We have harnesses free of charge for EOU students, and shoes available to rent for a minimal fee (first time is free!).

We want to encourage anyone and everyone to come check out the rock wall. This is a great activity for yourself and the whole family.

Who Can Climb

The rock wall is open to all community members, students, alumni and EOU faculty and staff. Helmets and harnesses are included in daily rates. Those needing to rent climbing shoes can do so for $5/visit. Prices are as follows:

Eastern Oregon University (fee paying) StudentsFREE (includes climbing shoes).

OAP Members ($25/yearly membership) = 30% off community member rates (Does not include season passes).

Community Members

Day Pass = $5

5 Day Pass = $20

Individual Season Pass = $75 – includes shoe and harness rental

Family Season Pass = $200 – includes shoe and harness rental

 EOU Faculty/Staff and Alumni – 25% off price of community member rates. If OAP member you receive 50% off community member rates.

Group Reservations

Group Pricing – The rock wall is available for groups and individuals to rent for special events like birthday parties, school functions, etc. We offer a discount to school groups and other non-profit educational organizations. Climbing shoe rental is included in the group pricing.

Private Groups < 10 persons = $75/hr

Private Groups > 10 persons = $105/hr

School or Non-profit Groups = $60/hr
