LA GRANDE, Ore. – EOU welcomes new students to campus this week, beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday when residents begin moving into the halls.
New Student Convocation is also planned at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Intended as a bookend to Commencement, the event marks students’ entry to EOU.
New students and families will gather at 12:30 p.m. in the Gilbert Center then proceed to the campus quad where faculty and staff will be waiting to greet them.
Rosemary Powers, professor of sociology, and Xavier Romano, vice president for student services, will give the official welcome at 1 p.m. in McKenzie Theatre in Loso Hall.
Week of Welcome activities continue through Oct.1. Special sessions for transfers, non-traditional, veteran students and parents are also planned. Fall classes start Sept. 29.
