La Grande, Ore. − Faculty return to Eastern Oregon University in mid-September to commence a new academic year. Faculty orientations, trainings, and Fall Convocation make up EOU’s Opening Session that begins Sept. 18.
All faculty and staff attend required trainings throughout the morning on Monday, Sept. 18. President Tom Insko will address employees for Fall Convocation from 2:30-3:30 p.m. that afternoon in McKenzie Theatre. Following his remarks, faculty and staff are invited to a welcome back reception at 3:30 p.m. in the Loso Foyer.
Colleges and departments coordinate meetings and workshops through Thursday, Sept. 21.
Incoming freshmen and transfer students can participate in East Tracks, a four-day outdoor adventure, Sept. 17 to 20 in the Elkhorn Mountains. Move-in day at the residence halls is Wednesday, Sept. 20, and all new students participate in Week of Welcome activities through Sunday, Sept. 24.
The first day of fall term classes is Monday, Sept. 25.
