What is the Open Streets project? A temporary closure of streets to automobile traffic so that people may use them for walking, bicycling, dancing, playing and socializing with the goal and mission to:
Saturday, May 14 is the first event in downtown La Grande from 9 a.m. to noon along Adams Avenue from 4th to Depot streets. Participate in different physical activities including a family bike ride to Pioneer Park, obstacle course, Zumba, yoga, disc golf, kids zone and more. A local business will provide information, water, first aid and other amenities.
Upcoming Open Streets events are July 9 and Sept. 10!
La Grande Open Streets is made possible by the City of La Grande, La Grande Main Street, Union County Fit Kids Coalition, Mountain Valley Therapy, Eastern Oregon University, OHSU School of Nursing, Elkhorn Media Group, Center for Human Development and La Grande Soroptimist.
