Matt Vogel, health information specialist, speaks at EOU May 9.
May 3, 2013 LA GRANDE, Ore. (EOU) – Matt Vogel will be the next presenter for the EOU Health Speaker Series Thursday, May 9. Students and community members are invited to attend the free presentation at 6 p.m. in Badgley Hall, Room 102.
The topic of Vogel’s presentation is “Just Say Know: Substance Use, College Life and Health Professions.” This engaging, interactive presentation will challenge students to think critically about various health-related topics and how they connect to the college experience.
Vogel will help the audience understand the intersection of substance use, media literacy, social relationships and how people working in different health professions can address these issues.
The speaker series is made possible by EOU and the Northeast Oregon Area Health Education Center with the goal of providing students interested in pursuing healthcare careers the opportunity to hear first-hand experiences from members of the area medical community. The series will continue through spring term with one presentation each month.
