LA GRANDE, Ore. (EOU) – Eastern Oregon University is participating in #GivingTuesday December 1 and university leaders are teaming up to make an even bigger impact during this global day of generosity.
Tom Insko, EOU president, and Mike Allstott, EOU Foundation president, are both taking the opportunity to show their support for year-end fundraising at the university. Each is committing $5,000 to match gifts made to the Eastern Annual Fund.
Insko will match contributions made by EOU faculty and staff, and Allstott will match donations from everyone.
In addition, Jay Kenton, retired interim EOU president, will match gifts up to $5,000 made to the First Citizen’s Scholarship Fund. Leaders in EOU’s Alumni Association are also contributing to various program funds.
Last year donations to the EOU Foundation received from November 1 through December 31 exceeded $200,000. These gifts support a number of areas through the institution and provide funds for the foundation to further its philanthropic mission.
#GivingTuesday is an opportunity for charities, families, businesses, community centers and students around the world to join together for the common purpose of giving back.
Donations to the EOU Foundation are accepted online at www.eou.edu/foundation/giving or call 541-962-3740. Learn more about #GivingTuesday at www.givingtuesday.org.
