Kelly Rice, assistant professor of physical activity and health at EOU.
LA GRANDE, Ore. November 8, 2016 – Kelly Rice, Ph.D., is the guest presenter for the next colloquium at Eastern Oregon University, Thursday, Nov. 10.
“Get Outside: After School Activity Results” begins at 4 p.m. in Ackerman Hall, Room 210. Light refreshments will be provided and the presentation can also be viewed live at livestream.com/eou/colloquium.
Rice, an assistant professor of physical activity and health at EOU, will share the pilot project she helped spearhead to implement and evaluate an outdoor physical activity and health education program to reduce engagement in risk behaviors associated with cancer development.
In addition to educating and promoting physical activity, the grant-funded program aimed to foster and develop positive self-efficacy, social support and autonomy within the participants for outdoor activities.
