LA GRANDE, Ore. – Join local author and fishing guide Cameron Scott for a free multimedia presentation on the intersection of fly fishing and writing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13 in Zabel Hall, Room 101 at EOU.
Scott guides for Taylor Creek Fly Shop in Colorado in the summer and Winding Waters in Joseph in the winter. All told he’s guided for a decade on some of the most beautiful trout and steelhead water in the west. Scott’s work has appeared in The Fly Fishing Journal, The Drake and High Country News. He currently writes an outdoor column called “Steelhead Nation” for The La Grande Observer and works as the Fishtrap Story Lab Coordinator for the non-profit literary arts organization in Enterprise.
Scott’s forthcoming second book, “The Book of Cold Mountain,” recently received the Blue Light Press Poetry Award. He was also an editor for “A Democracy of Poets,” a finalist this year in the Colorado Book Awards.
