La Grande, Ore. − Staff and faculty at Eastern Oregon University peruse fitness offerings, learn about their insurance and retirement packages, and line up for flu shots each fall at the Employee Wellness Fair on campus.
This year’s event will feature private vendors for the first time, and has moved to a larger venue to accommodate up to 20 organizations. Providence Health, Moda Health, Fidelity Investments, Oregon Savings and Growth and others will share information about their programs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 24 in the Gilbert Events Center.
“In the past, it’s really just been a flu shot and our retirement plans,” said Jacque Naegle, one of the event organizers. “Recently, it’s been expanding to include more and more health services for employees.”
Naegle, an assistant director of human resources at EOU, said she looks forward to including local service providers and small businesses in the fair.
“One of the primary ways the university engages with the community is through our employees,” Naegle said. “This is a great opportunity to connect them with local businesses in La Grande.”
Vendor spots are still available. It’s free to participate, and interested parties should contact Jacque Naegle by Sept. 20 to reserve a table at the event.
