LA GRANDE, Ore. (EOU) – Eastern Oregon University’s Alumni Association is organizing events from Portland to Boise to Maupin and back on campus this summer.
“The summer alumni event series is a great way to engage alumni near and far, and keep them updated on all things EOU,” said Jamey McDonald, Alumni Association president. “This year, in the spirit of Eastern’s outdoor opportunities, we have added the Central Oregon Raft Trip to cater to the outdoor enthusiasts.”
Up first is the Boise Hawks baseball game June 29. The Mountaineers are taking over the Mountain Dew Lodge picnic area to cheer on the Hawks. Tickets are $12 per person and include an all-you-can-eat picnic and reserved seating. Special thanks to the event sponsor – Liberty Mutual!
Next up on July 8, is the first annual Central Oregon Raft Trip featuring thrilling Class III and IV rapids along the beautiful Deschutes River. Sage Canyon Rafting will guide alumni, family and friends down the river, and meet up after the trip at The Riverside Restaurant located in Maupin for a no-host gathering. The 13-mile trip costs $65 per person, and includes lunch.
“The association is excited to offer this new, exciting event in addition to the traditional events this summer!” McDonald said. “I look forward to meeting and reconnecting with fellow EOU graduates!”
The Alumni Association will host a family friendly evening at the Hillsboro Hops game on July 20 at the Ron Tonkin Field in Hillsboro! A $20 ticket will allow you to enjoy an all-you-can-eat picnic in the newly renovated pavilion, get your picture with the Hops mascot and enjoy reserved seats with fellow EOU alumni.
The Portland Timbers game is the longest running alumni event, and the most popular! So get your tickets reserved today for a VIP experience in the Widmer Deck to cheer on the Timbers! Tickets are $50 per person and include drinks and snacks. Special thanks to the event sponsor – US Bank Charitable Services Group!
Kick off football season with an EOU Football tailgate at the EOU vs. College of Idaho football game on September 16! Hosted by the Mountaineer Athletic Association, bring your friends and family to cheer on our Mountaineers to victory in this I-84 rivalry game! Admission is free for all!
