Presented below is an outline for full-time study of 30 credits per year, which includes for two summers participating in a 10-day residency (Fishtrap and on-campus) and for two academic years taking a pair of 3- or 4-cr courses each quarter (fall through spring), generally a genre-specific workshop and a special topics class. Part-time study of 20 credits per year for three years is also possible (see this outline)<\/a>. Please note: To be eligible for federal financial aid, a graduate student must take a minimum of 5 credits in a term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • A maximum of 60 graded credit hours <\/strong>in English\/Writing at the 500- level or above.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • At least 4 credit hours in WR 552 (one workshop class) <\/strong>must be in genres other than your principle genre.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • WR 550 Residency: Generative Workshop (Fishtrap workshop) is graded S\/U.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Post-Residency WR 552 (1 cr) is devoted to the polishing work begun in the Summer Residency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • A minimum grade of \u201cB-\u201c <\/strong>and a cumulative GPA of 3.00 (or better) <\/strong>is required in all courses counting toward the degree.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
