EOU SAFE Zone

The EOU Safe Zone program is a network of allies composed of students, faculty and staff who are committed and trained to provide safe, non-judgmental, and supportive contacts for all EOU community members who identify as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual or transgender.

You can identify Safe Zone trained people on the EOU campus by the upside-down rainbow triangle sticker, which is displayed on their office door or workspace. One of the roles of an ally is to help to create an atmosphere of safety and support for LGBTQ students and staff. We highly encourage entire offices/departments to go through the training, so that their department/area is a designated “safe space.”

If you would like to become a certified “Safe Zone” space and an ally to the LGBTQ community, contact the Multicultural Center for information on the next training date.
