The EOU College of Education\u2019s full-time, intensive Master of Arts in Teaching program (MAT) blends full-time in-classroom professional experience with academic preparation.<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MAT program is ten months (4 terms), beginning in the Summer term and extending through the following Spring term. It is a hybrid program, which allows candidates to live and student teach throughout Oregon for an entire academic year while taking hybrid courses and coming to the EOU campus for one week of face to face classes in the summer term, as well as an optional Career Fair in the spring term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What can I do with an MAT degree?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A: The MAT program prepares you to teach in the public or private school system, either at the Elementary or the Secondary grade levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: How long is the MAT program?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A: The program starts in August and continues through June of the following year.  The program extends over 4 terms, which is a total of 10 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Can I start the program in the middle of the year?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A: Our program is designed on the cohort model, which requires you to start in August and go through the complete program with your cohort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
