Legacy Ford and Eastern Oregon University: Driving Success Together in Eastern Oregon

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University (EOU) and Legacy Ford of La Grande are proud to announce their ongoing partnership through the “Bridging Horizons: EOU’s Community Partnerships Spotlight” series. This initiative celebrates the connections between EOU, Oregon’s Official Rural University, and the businesses and organizations that are the backbone of eastern Oregon.

For over two decades, Legacy Ford has been a proud partner with EOU, contributing to various aspects of student life and university programs. From athletics to academic engagement, Legacy Ford has helped ensure students have the resources and opportunities to thrive.

Greg Colozzi, owner of Legacy Ford, and Chris Huxoll, sales manager and proud EOU alum, are the driving forces behind the partnership. “We’ve always seen the value in supporting EOU and its mission. It’s more than just a partnership, it’s about building a stronger community together,” Colozzi remarked.

One of the hallmark initiatives of this collaboration is the “Elevate Your Drive” program, which demonstrates Legacy Ford’s commitment to not just EOU but the broader community. For every new or pre-owned vehicle purchased, Legacy Ford pledges a $500 donation to an EOU program of the buyer’s choice, alongside offering the choice between complimentary vehicle delivery or a free night’s stay in La Grande.

“This program is our way of investing in the future leaders of our community. It’s about creating a sustainable impact that benefits both our students and the community at large,” Huxoll said. This initiative not only supports EOU’s academic programs but also engages alumni and local residents, reinforcing the strong ties between the university and the community.

Legacy Ford’s involvement extends beyond financial contributions; it includes active participation in university events, such as sponsoring the outdoor tailgate zone at Mountaineer football games and employing a significant number of EOU graduates. “We believe in the talent that EOU nurtures. Many of our best employees are EOU graduates, which speaks volumes about the quality of education and the character of the students there,” Colozzi shared.

The partnership between Legacy Ford and EOU showcases the power of community collaboration and mutual support. Through initiatives like “Elevate Your Drive,” Legacy Ford and EOU are setting a benchmark for how businesses and educational institutions can work together to foster growth, engagement, and prosperity in their communities.
