American Classroom Readiness Course

What is it?

Eastern Oregon University is teaming up with English3 to provide the most cutting-edge orientation program for international students like you! The American Classroom Readiness course will help you gain the confidence and skills you need to be successful when you begin studying at Eastern Oregon University.

Why should I take this course?

Not only is English much more difficult in a fast-paced learning environment, classroom culture is different as well. Students who take the American Classroom Readiness course show up to school prepared to do the following:

  • Function in a fast-paced, English-speaking environment
  • Engage in the classroom
  • Give proper class presentations
  • Work well in groups
  • Avoid plagiarism
  • Effectively approach job interviews

How does it work?

The learning platform is completely online and can be accessed anytime and anywhere. One feature that makes the platform unique is Asynchronous Video Technology (AVT). AVT enables you to practice real life scenarios. You are given prompts and asked to submit videos performing college-level tasks. North American coaches then observe the videos and respond with personalized feedback, giving you the opportunity to improve your speaking skills. This, combined with other features on the platform, will prepare you to excel at Eastern Oregon University.

Proficiency Test

What is it?

The English3 Proficiency Test emphasizes language production, specifically speaking and writing. Because these skills are so essential for learning in class, you will want to know that you are proficient in these areas.

Why should I take this test?

American in-class learning is fast-paced, and we want to make sure you are proficient in your interactive skills. By using interactive testing activities, you can become more confident in your speaking and writing capabilities.

How much does it cost?

With English3, you save money. The English3 Proficiency Test costs $75, as opposed to the hundreds of dollars spent on the TOEFL, IELTS, or other language proficiency tests.
