The Eastern Oregon University Financial Aid Office<\/strong> is committed to helping you obtain funding for your academic program(s). Whether you are a current or prospective student, there are a variety of financial aid programs available. Financial aid programs vary in eligibility criteria and award amounts. Most students and families need some financial assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you need help applying for financial aid, we are here to help. We are available Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We encourage all students to apply for financial aid by filing a Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA\u00ae). Our federal school code is 003193<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steps to get financial aid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

1. Apply<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Financial aid is available for degree-seeking students. Depending on your immigration status, apply by completing the FAFSA<\/a> or the ORSAA<\/a>. If you\u2019re not sure which to use, take this quiz<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Submit documents<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After you apply, the EOU Financial Aid Office may request additional information from you. Watch your my.eou.edu<\/a> Dashboard and look for red flags. If no additional information is needed, proceed to step three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Review and accept award<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When your award is ready, we will send you an email with instructions for accepting your award. The link to your award will appear in your my.eou.edu<\/a> Dashboard. If you are a new freshman or transfer student, a paper copy of your offer will be mailed to the address on your FAFSA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will also need to schedule a meeting with a Financial Aid Counselor to discuss your college financing offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If, after consultation with your financial aid counselor, you determine that you want to use your federal loan eligibility to help pay for your school expenses, you must <\/em>accept those loans in Mountie Hub, and<\/em> complete entrance counseling<\/a> and fill out and sign a master promissory note<\/a> on studentaid.gov<\/a> BEFORE your last day<\/em> of attendance for the term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Receive your funds<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After accepting your award, you\u2019ll choose how you want to receive your money, charge textbooks, or get a work study position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Maintain eligibility<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Financial aid eligibility requires students to maintain good academic standing. You can lose your aid \u2013 or even be required to give it back! You will be notified of changes to your eligibility in your EOU email and in your Financial Aid Dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Financial aid and veterans benefits<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re using VA benefits, you can and should apply for financial aid in addition to veterans benefits. Apply for financial aid by following the steps above, and apply for Veterans Education Benefits<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
