Students should be researching and submitting scholarship applications.

February – EOU Diversity and Foundation Scholarship deadlines are February 1st.

Students should be researching and submitting scholarship applications.

Watch for financial aid offer from EOU.  We usually begin sending out awards late-March to early April.   EOU typically waits for the Oregon Opportunity Grant Award amounts before we send out first awards, unless they are significantly delayed.

If you have had an address change, make sure that EOU has your new mailing address.  We may need to request additional information from you to complete your financial aid application.  Make sure that you check your mail and email.  Financial aid awards are not final until we have received all requested information and done a final file review.

Are you planning to attend summer term at EOU?  To receive financial aid for summer term, you must be an admitted student and you must submit a Summer Aid Request Form.  First time direct Loan borrowers planning to attend summer term should do their entrance interviews after accepting summer loans.

Applied for summer financial aid but no financial aid offer yet?  Call or email our office.  Check your Webster student portal to see if we have requested documents like the verification worksheet and tax forms.

Is your Summer financial aid ready to disburse?  Read the information under the month of September below!

If you graduated in June, you’ll have a six month grace period before your Direct Stafford Loan repayment begins.  Examine your loans and your repayment, and consolidation options. Summer term financial aid typically disburses in July.

Did you remember to log into your to WEBSTER student portal and accept your loans? First time Direct Stafford Loan borrowers should do their entrance interviews after accepting fall loans. You will need to have a Direct Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note on file and your entrance interview completed before we will disburse your fall loans!

We will begin to disburse Fall term financial aid typically in September.  Please see the academic calendar for published dates.  We initially award all students at full time attendance.  If you will be attending part time, we will need to revise your aid.  Make sure we know you will be a part time student.  If your aid is set to disburse for full time (12 credit hours for undergraduates or 9 credit hours for graduates), your disbursement will not happen if you are enrolled at less than full time.

You can check WEBSTER to see if your aid has disbursed to your student account.  The Student Accounts Office sends out checks!  Once aid has disbursed, please contact the Student Accounts Office at 541-962-3590.

It’s time to start getting information ready for your next year’s FAFSA application.

Complete your FAFSA on the Web for the next academic year.  Make sure you put EOU’s school code 003193 on your FAFSA.  New students should be applying for college admission and submitting scholarship applications.  Review your Student Aid Report and make sure the colleges you want to attend are listed.  If you need to make changes to your FAFSA, follow the steps on the FAFSA on the Web site.  Explore scholarship opportunities on the web.

Did you receive a work study award this award year?  Look for a work study job and get hired.  If you decided that you will not use your work study, please decline your award in Wesbter.

Are you thinking about dropping a class?  If you received financial aid for full time attendance and will drop below full time, read our Disbursement Policy and Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy pages!

The month of November is a great time to visit with Financial Aid Office staff and ask questions.  Will you graduate in June?  Do you need information about loan consolidation options?  Are you thinking about attending graduate school and need information about financial aid for your graduate program?  Are you are planning to get married next year?  How will your marriage affect your financial aid?

Are you researching scholarship opportunities on your break?  Check the EOU Financial Aid web site for EOU scholarship deadlines.  If you are an Oregon resident, check out the Oregon Student Access & Completion (OSAC) web site for their scholarship deadlines.
