Complete your FAFSA on the Web.  Make sure you put EOU’s school code 003193 on your FAFSA.  New students should be applying for college admission and submitting scholarship applications.  Continuing students should be submitting scholarship applications.

February – EOU Diversity and Foundation Scholarship deadlines are February 1st.

Review your Student Aid Report and make sure the colleges you want to attend are listed.  If you need to make changes, follow the steps on the FAFSA on the Web site.  Explore scholarship opportunities on the web.

Watch for an initial offer of financial aid from EOU.  We usually send out first awards by mid-March; however, we will wait for the final 2013/14 Oregon Opportunity Grant Award amounts before we send out first awards, unless they are significantly delayed.

If you have had an address change, make sure that EOU has your new mailing address.  We may need to request additional information from you to complete your financial aid application.  Make sure that you check your mail and email.  Financial aid awards are not final until we have received all requested information and done a final file review.

Are you planning to attend summer term at EOU?  To receive financial aid for summer term, you must be an admitted student and you must submit a Summer Aid Request Form.  First time direct Loan borrowers planning to attend summer term should do their entrance interviews after accepting summer loans.

Applied for summer financial aid but no financial aid offer yet?  Call or email our office.  Check your Webster page to see if we have requested documents like the verification worksheet and tax forms.

Is your Summer financial aid ready to disburse?  Read the information under the month of September below!

If you graduated in June, you’ll have a six month grace period before your Stafford Loan repayment begins.  Examine your loans and your repayment and consolidation options. Summer term financial aid will begin disbursing on July 1st.

Did you remember to log on to WEBSTER and accept your loans? First time direct loan borrowers should do their entrance interviews after accepting fall loans. You will need to have a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note on file and your entrance interview completed before we will disburse your fall loans!

We will begin to disburse Fall term 2013 financial aid on September 24th. We initially award all students for full time attendance.  If you will attend part time, we will need to revise your aid.  Make sure we know you will be a part time student.  If you aid is set to disburse for full time (12 credit hours for undergraduates or 9 credit hours for graduates), your disbursement will not happen if you are enrolled at less than full time.

You can check WEBSTER to see if your aid has disbursed to your student account.  The Student Accounts Office sends out checks!  Once aid has disbursed, please contact the Student Accounts Office at 541-962-3590.

Did you receive a work study award?  Look for a work study job and get hired.  If you decided that you will not use your work study, please decline your award so another student can be awarded and find a work study job.

Are you thinking about dropping a class?  If you received financial aid for full time attendance and will drop below full time, read our Disbursement Policy and Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy pages!

The month of November is a great time to visit with Financial Aid Office staff and ask questions.  Will you graduate in June?  Do you need information about loan consolidation options?  Are you thinking about attending graduate school and need information about financial aid for your graduate program?  Are you are planning to get married next year?  How  will your marriage affect your financial aid?

It’s time to start getting information ready for your next year’s FAFSA application.  Are you researching scholarship opportunties on your break?  Check the EOU Financial Aid web site for EOU scholarship deadlines.  Check the Oregon Student Assistance Commission web site for their scholarship deadlines.
