Financial Assistance Request COVID-19 Federal CARES Act Funding

Eastern Oregon University has received its CARES Act funding from the U.S. Department of Education  These funds provide direct emergency assistance for EOU “on campus” degree program students.  EOU’s goal is to assist students with the greatest need, in accordance with the federal guidelines.  These students include:

  • Students registered in “on campus degree programs” for Spring term 2020, eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid;
  • Students who’s “on campus” jobs were discontinued as a result of the COVID19 partial campus closure, and are no longer receiving an EOU paycheck for spring term;
  • Students who experienced additional expenses directly related to the disruption of the EOU campus moving to remote spring term operations.  Expenses to include losses for food, housing, additional course materials, technology, healthcare, childcare.

To receive CARES Act funding, on campus degree seeking students just need to apply by utilizing the application at the top of this page.  All applicants will be sent an additional questionnaire that will need to be returned to fao@eou.edu, before applications will be processed.

Distribution & eRefunds

All CARES Act applications will be processed as quickly as possible.  Students will be notified via email (EOU email) once their application has been processed.  All CARES Act funds will be deposited directly to their student account.   Then, disbursed based on the student’s disbursement selection on their personal student account (check or eRefund).
