Eastern Oregon Food Stories
About the Project
Eastern Oregon Food Stories is an online archive created by high school and college students in a summer field writing class at Eastern Oregon University. The writing class consisted of nineteen students, all from different parts of Oregon.
The first assignment for the class was to develop a series of interview questions aimed at better understanding others’ food values and beliefs. All students then interviewed at least five different people and wrote short profiles on each interviewee. We also wrote our own food stories. After doing so, we decided to start a website to share these stories, and to encourage others to continue contributing their own.
Everyone has a food story, whether they are a farmer, producer, gardener, or eater. The purpose of this archive is to learn from and about people who represent different parts of the food system in our region.
We welcome you to share your story and be a part of Eastern Oregon Food Stories.Share:
