Benefits of Credit for Prior Learning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Credit for Prior Learning, or CPL<\/strong>, is an important resource because it can save you both time and money!* CPL offers several benefits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Adult students who participate in CPL are 17% more likely to complete their programs of study compared to those without CPL.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Adult CPL students save an average of 9-14 months in the amount of time needed to earn a degree by completing 12 CPL credits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Adult students save between $1,500 and $10,200 in education costs with CPL.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Adult learners find the CPL process to be both empowering and validating.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    ACE\/Military<\/h3>
    \n

    Students entering Eastern Oregon University may have college credit awarded for educational experience obtained in the military. Credit will be evaluated and based on the recommendation of the American Council on Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Agency Sponsored Learning<\/h3>

    Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning<\/h3>
    \n

    The APEL process provides an opportunity for students to document acquired learning from life\/work experiences in a format that can be assessed for academic credit.  Within the outcomes of the APEL 390 course, students identify their learning from adult life experiences that correlate with college level achievement in specific disciplines that are available at EOU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
