March 17, 2020 – Working from home technology preparedness checklist

Colleagues,

Working from home requires a bit of preparation and planning. Each supervisor needs to begin the process of reviewing if remote work is suitable for each of their employees. Once the decision is made for telework, it’s crucial to ensure that the employee’s home network and equipment function properly, which is part of the preparation process.

The EOU IT Department has created a “Work From Home Preparedness Checklist” to assist the supervisor and their employees (when the supervisor approves the telework) when making decisions on how to keep your department’s operations moving forward.

This checklist is for all EOU employees preparing to work from home upon supervisor approval. It includes a list of questions for the equipment, tools, and technology that all EOU employees need to be successful when working remotely.  Please review all of the information in the checklist to help you and your supervisor be prepared to work from home.
