March 11, 2020 – Coronavirus information

Dear EOU Community,

We want to update you on contingency planning for our campus, and how federal and state guidelines could impact how we carry out instruction and other events while mitigating the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Our primary focus remains on protecting the health of EOU students and staff. Every decision we make about continuing or modifying existing classroom and extracurricular activities will be guided by that priority. 

We are closely tracking what other colleges and universities have been implementing to protect their campus communities and are prepared to follow such actions if necessary at EOU.

We will continue to provide frequent communications as new information becomes available. The EOU coronavirus website will be updated correspondingly. Our previous guidance from earlier this week can be found here: eou.edu/coronavirus.

Please continue to take extra caution and follow these guidelines for hand washing and other preventative measures.

We expect to have more updated information tomorrow after new guidelines are issued by the Governor and the State of Oregon. We will inform you immediately of any other actions we will be taking to help ensure your health is protected and learning continues.
