EOU Named State Leader in Teacher Reading Prep<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Eastern Oregon University has been recognized as a statewide leader in preparing teachers to effectively teach reading. Through evidence-based coursework and strong clinical partnerships, EOU equips graduates with practical literacy instruction skills. The program addresses critical workforce needs while improving student outcomes in Oregon schools, particularly in rural and underserved communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EOU offers the Undergraduate Elementary Education program, which results in a Bachelor\u2019s degree and teacher licensure at the elementary level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SEITL undergraduate program is a comprehensive two-year program that combines coursework in core study areas and structured in-person practicum and student teaching field placements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Undergraduate Early Childhood Education <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Early Childhood Education program area offers stackable non-licensure credentials; a Certificate, an Associate of Arts, and a Bachelor of Arts\/Science. Students who have completed an Associate of Applied Science in ECED at a community college have the option of completing a Bachelor of Applied Science. All Early Childhood Education coursework is offered completely online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Master of Arts in Teaching <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The MAT Program is a graduate teacher preparation program designed to help students obtain Preliminary Oregon Licensure in either an Elementary-Multiple Subjects or Secondary-Single Subject Area(s) and to enable students to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching Degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

English for Speakers of Other Languages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is available at a graduate or undergraduate level and can be taken in conjunction with the Undergraduate Elementary Education program, or the MS in Education. It can also be completed separately, at both the undergraduate and graduate level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EOU offers the only Trauma in Educational Communities licensure experimental specialization in the state of Oregon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The College of Education undergraduate and Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Initial licensure as well as other licensure endorsements are accredited by Oregon\u2019s Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eastern Oregon University is a member in good standing of the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP).  Eastern Oregon University is working toward accreditation of its educator preparation programs under the AAQEP standards with an anticipated Quality Assurance Review in spring 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
