Kim is a positive educator that brings over 22 years of distinguished educational experiences to
EOU. Prior to joining EOU she was an Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, University
Supervisor and teacher K-20. She has a welcoming and understanding demeanor with a deep
understanding of elementary curriculum and research-based practices. Her instruction and
field guidance are centered around effective outcomes that ensure success for all of her future
teacher candidates. Kim takes the time to connect learning from previous courses to field
experiences during a student’s practicum. Her passion is researching best practices in
classroom management and student behaviors. She feels classroom management is a
necessary core foundation all teachers need to continue to study. This year she will be a Senior
Instructor II and Education Supervisor in the College of Education at EOU.


Kim received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in
Beaumont, Texas. This enabled her to become an Assistant Principal at a K-5 elementary school
in Katy, TX. She has her Danielson Certification in Idaho and Texas. Her Bachelor of Arts degree
is in Business and Elementary Education from The University of Houston. She has active
teaching licenses in Idaho and Texas. Additionally, she has an ESL endorsement attached to her
teaching license in the states of Idaho and Texas. She also has a Reading Instruction Certificate
and a Writing Instruction Certificate from the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at
Columbia University in New York.


Kim is originally from Texas but has called the Pacific Northwest home for the last five years.
For fun, one will see her hiking, biking, visiting dog parks and playing pickleball with her
husband. Kim and her husband, Chris make their home in the Boise area in Idaho. They have
three older children and one dog named Max who enjoys spending any extra time at the local
dog park.
