Dr. Farrell began teaching at Eastern in the fall of 2012, and carries with her a variety of interests.  She became a licensed middle/high school teacher in 2000 with endorsements in language arts and drama.  Because of her background in the field of civil engineering/land surveying and drafting, she added her CTE endorsement to teach pre-engineering classes in 2009.  She spent 9 years teaching grades 7-12 in Klamath Falls, OR before moving back to Montana to complete her doctoral studies.  She also taught college writing (composition and technical writing) and public speaking for 10 years.  Her primary areas of research interest are visual literacy, media influence, communication, assessment, and educational technology.
