Candy McGilvray has been the Field Placement Coordinator/Database Coordinator for the Colleges of Business and Education since May of 2009. As the Field Placement Coordinator, Candy’s main focus is the placement of practicum and student teachers in school districts throughout Oregon and neighboring states. She enjoys working with administrators, cooperating teachers, students and university supervisors while in this position as well as teaching and supervising MAT students. Prior to coming to EOU, Candy worked for Boise Cascade LLC, Fleetwood Travel Trailers of Oregon, and for the Cove, Scio, and Burnt River School districts as a business teacher and coach. Coaching basketball and volleyball are two of her many passions, but she has also enjoyed coaching track as well as Little League softball and baseball. Even though she currently isn’t coaching, you will find her in area gymnasiums or on athletic fields at least two to three evenings a week in the fall and winter months working as a referee or scorekeeper or just being a faithful fan. Candy lives on a ranch outside Cove with her husband, three youngest children, and their three dogs. Her oldest daughter lives in La Grande. Candy is an avid outdoor enthusiast loving the mountains, the beaches, and the deserts where she travels frequently. When she is not at work or in the gym, she enjoys volunteering, camping, four-wheeling, shooting hoops, playing games with her kids, boating, gardening for others, fishing, and watching a variety of sports on television.
