Professor Peter Obenwa joins EOU as an Associate Professor in the Business Administration Department teaching accounting courses. Prior to coming to EOU, he was a professor at Strayer University, in the Washington D.C. area. Peter earned his first Bachelors and his MBA from Eastern Washington University. He completed his BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland and a Masters in Development Banking from American University in Washington D.C. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Maryland Association of Public Accountants. He also has private sector experience working for a regional CPA firm in Baltimore, MD.
In addition to teaching accounting courses since 1997, Peter has taught economics, finance and International Business courses. In 2006, he launched a free tutoring accounting workshop for students, which is still part of the accounting students experience at Strayer University-Woodbridge Campus. The tutoring helped students understand accounting concepts in simple terms.
