She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida and has previously held licensure in Louisiana and Texas. Dr. Schuermann earned her Master of Science in Community Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans and her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Schuermann&#8217;s&nbsp;academic areas of specialization include trauma\u2014particularly trauma in children and disaster-related trauma\u2014as well as pedagogy and supervision within counselor education. Dr. Schuermann\u2019s clinical expertise includes work with children, trauma recovery, and the use of creative and expressive therapeutic approaches. She has authored 25 peer-reviewed publications, co-authored two book chapters, and presented at over 50 international, national, and regional conferences. She has a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and an M.S. in Counseling from Texas A&amp;M University- Corpus Christi, and a B.A. in English from The University of Colorado- Boulder. Her clinical experience focuses on challenges impacting women\u2019s mental health and well-being and the prevention of family violence. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) whose clinical work is predominantly in correctional settings and counselor training clinics. She is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) with service on the Editorial Advisory Board. Dr.\u00a0Cade\u00a0is also active in two ACA divisions, the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors (IAAOC) and the Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling (AARC). In IAAOC, Dr.\u00a0Cade\u00a0currently serves as Past President and Associate Editor of the<em>\u00a0Journal of Addictions and Offender Counseling<\/em>. She previously served as co-director of a university-based family counseling clinic providing free services to more than 300 clients per year. Dr. Lloyd-Hazlett brings experience as a Principal Investigator\u00a0(PI) and Consultant on two Health Resources &amp; Services Administration Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) grants providing specialized training in integrated behavioral healthcare to clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, social work, and clinical psychology trainees. She is recipient of the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision Outstanding Teaching and Pine-Biggs ASERVIC Journal Article of the Year Awards. Dr. Lloyd-Hazlett\u2019s research interests include cognitive development, pedagogy in counselor education and supervision, professional ethics, and primary care behavioral health. She enjoys spending time outdoors, painting, traveling, and loving on her two kitties, Knut and Sardine. He has a PhD in Counselor Education and<br>Supervision from The University of Florida, an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from<br>Georgia State University, and a B.S. in Psychology from Mercer University. He has worked in<br>various clinical settings such as high school, private practice, and university counseling centers.<br>His research interests include counseling, social justice and advocacy, identity<br>formation and integration for marginalized individuals, technology in counseling, and counselor<br>identity development. Dr. Mike is an active of the American Counseling Association (ACA) as<br>well as Counselors for Social Justice (CSJ), Association for Counselor Education and<br>Supervision (ACES), and Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development. Dr. Mike<br>has also served as an Emerging Leader for the Southern Association for Counselor Education<br>and Supervision (SACES). He has worked with a wide range of clients such as children in the foster care system, LGBTQ+ communities, and military families. He received his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from Texas Tech University and in 2013 earned his Ph.D. from the College of William and Mary. Since then, he helped secure\u00a0over $2.5 million in external funding, most of this was from Victims of Crime Act grants to serve the communities south of San Antonio, Texas, affected by a mass shooting. His research agenda has focused on raising the voices of marginalized communities and using cultural immersion experiences to increase self-awareness and multicultural humility in counseling students. He has received the\u00a0Outstanding Article Award from the Journal of Counselor Education and Supervision and the Bigg-Pine ASERVIC Journal Award. Swathi has many years of experience working with clients in rural populations and underserved areas. Her passion is in crisis counseling and in helping clients who are typically underrepresented in counseling settings. She grew up in a small town in eastern Idaho and relocated to La Grande in 2006. In 2016, Jamie earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern Oregon University, with a concentration in Marketing and Management. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and crafting.
