The SCCA Coordinator applies classroom learning to real-world projects by supporting campus-wide cultural programs, facilitating dialogue, assisting with operational tasks, and collaborating with diverse student groups and university departments. This experiential learning environment builds practical skills in leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and professional communication while allowing the student to directly contribute to improving the campus climate and student experience.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Professional Development:<\/strong><\/td><td>This position provides access to a wide range of professional development opportunities, including job-specific training through the Strategic Equity Initiatives office, participation in university-wide trainings, and engagement with career exploration and leadership-building resources. The student employee will strengthen competencies in event planning, public speaking, team collaboration, and project management through direct practice and mentorship. These experiences prepare students for future careers in education, student affairs, nonprofit work, advocacy, and other people-focused professions by building transferable, career-ready skills.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Summary of Job Duties\/Responsibilities\/Essential Functions<a>:<\/a><\/strong><\/td><td>\u2013 Provide day-to-day operations and organizational tasks needed to run the SCCA program.<br \/>\u2013 Communicate information to SCCA Council Members regarding scheduled meetings, programs, forums, trainings, and other volunteer opportunities.<br \/>\u2013 Attend Student Fee Committee, campus committees, and other meetings that address student experiences and access to resources.<br \/>\u2013 Manage basic office operations and procedures including budgeting, supply and equipment inventory, scheduling, and coordinating meetings and trainings.<br \/>\u2013 Respond to general student inquiries and communications related to SCCA and its programs.<br \/>\u2013 Manage calendars, coordinate schedules, and independently arrange appointments.<br \/>\u2013 Compose, prepare, and process general and confidential correspondence.<br \/>\u2013 Create, organize, and maintain both physical and digital filing systems.<br \/>\u2013 Plan and coordinate meetings, programs, and events by securing locations, arranging logistics, preparing materials &amp; meeting agendas, and taking minutes.<br \/>\u2013 Research and develop resources to strengthen and improve the program for all students.<br \/>\u2013 Support campus events such as tabling at Preview Days, Mountaineer Days, class visits, student panels, and orientation programs.<br \/>\u2013 Assist with planning SEI programs and events and coordinate council member check-ins.<br \/>\u2013 Plan and present small trainings and workshops and facilitating safe spaces for meaningful dialogue.<br \/>\u2013 Support cultural clubs and organizations by serving as a resource, collaborating on events, and participating in activities.<br \/>\u2013 Serve on the Celebrate Educate &amp; Appreciate Diversity (CEAD) Conference Planning Committee.<br \/>\u2013 Participate in EOU recruitment efforts and support SCCA meetings, trainings, conferences, and sponsored events.<br \/>\u2013 Serve as a resource and mentor for students navigating questions related to identity and cultural experiences.<br \/>\u2013 Collaborate with ASEOU-Director of Student Outreach, SEI&#8217;s MOSAIC Center &amp; MOSAIC Hub, ASEOU student organizations, and university departments on program initiatives.<br \/>\u2013 Other duties as assigned.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/td><td>\u2013 Enrolled sophomore standing or above at Eastern Oregon University with a minimum 2.50 GPA.<br \/>\u2013 General office skills and proper phone etiquette.<br \/>\u2013 Good communication and interpersonal skills.<br \/>\u2013 Organizational skills and attention to detail.<br \/>\u2013 Ability to take initiative, lead meetings, and brainstorm ideas with students.<br \/>\u2013 Interest in diversity and multicultural education.<br \/>\u2013 Working knowledge of Miscrosoft Word\/Google Docs, Microsoft Excel\/Google Spreadsheet, and Microsoft PowerPoint\/Google Slide Deck creation.<br \/>\u2013 Sensitivity and solidarity with traditionally underrepresented groups.<br \/>\u2013 Flexible schedule to support program activities.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Preferred Qualifications<\/strong>:<\/td><td>\u2013 Experience in leading or participating in programs that support a welcoming and respectful campus community.<br \/>\u2013 Previous involvement with student organizations focused on cultural engagement or student advocacy.<br \/>\u2013 Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute events and workshops that strengthen campus connection and student engagement.<br \/>\u2013 Experience managing social media platforms and creating content to support outreach and student engagement.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Desired Knowledge, Skills &amp;
