The Stockroom Assistant will be responsible for completing various duties in the Science Stores centered around customer service, laboratory preparation, and cleanup. This position assists the Science Lab Preparator for the Science Stores and occasionally the Scientific Instrument Technician. Students who apply for this role should expect to work 10 hours a week, and must demonstrate proficient chemistry and biology skills that relate to the nature of stoichiometry, dilutions, oxidation\/reduction reactions, animal specimen care, and inventory management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summary of Job Duties\/Responsibilities\/Essential Functions:<\/a><\/strong><\/td>– Data entry and inventory management.
– Assist in organizing and categorizing lab supplies.
– Support laboratory operations by ensuring equipment and materials are accounted for and ready for use.
– Customer service.
– Data entry
– Maintain the Science Stores space, equipment, and inventory.
– Document student rentals from the Science Stores including scientific glassware, scientific equipment, and lab drawers.
– Initiate and perform good lab practices in science labs.
– Perform other related duties as assigned and\/or required.<\/td><\/tr>
Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/td>Current student in good academic standing, enrolled in 6 or more credits, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.<\/td><\/tr>
Preferred Qualifications<\/strong>:<\/td>– In good academic standing.
– 2.5 GPA strongly preferred.
– Completion of the Chemistry 204, 205, 206 courses and labs with a C or better.
– Completion of the Biology 211, 212, 213 courses and labs with a C or better (preferred).
– Positive endorsement from EOU chemistry faculty prior to application.
– Must be currently enrolled in 6 or more credits to be applicable for this position.<\/td><\/tr>
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities<\/strong>:<\/td>– Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.<\/td><\/tr>
