How to log into the computer

To log into the Smart Classroom PC:

  • Click “Other User”
  • Enter your Mountie-Pass credentials (email username and password)
  • Guests of EOU can log onto the PC by typing: .\eouuser – no password is required
  • Be sure to log out of the public computer once you are done

Access to AV cabinet

Faculty will be given a 4 digit code by the college or by the AV department to access the AV cabinets.


To open the cabinet:

  1. Enter in the 4 digit combination.
  2. Rotate the lever to the left to unlock.
  3. Pull to open the cabinet door.

To close the cabinet:

  1. Close the cabinet door until you hear the door latch.
  2. Ensure the lever is in its original vertical position.
  3. Pull on the cabinet door to ensure it’s secured properly. repeat if it is not.

  • Sony PHZ10 Laser Projector  (2xAA batteries for remote)
  • Dell OptiPlex computer (IT equipment not AV)
  • Logitech wireless keyboard with touchpad (2xAA batteries)
  • Gyration wireless mouse
  • 25 foot VGA cable for laptop connection
  • Elmo brand overhead projector (EYB Bulb)
  • 18-foot screen (mounted front of the room)
  • Mackie 8 input mixer
  • Kramer VP-440 Switch
  • Yamaha CP2000 Amplifier
  • 2 unknown speakers (wall mounted)

To Use the Cabinet PC

  1. Make sure the projector is powered on. Make sure the switcher input is set to input [1].
  2. Turn on the computer, if on, strike any key to exit sleep mode.
  3. To adjust Volume use Mackie stereo mixer in the cabinet, use “PC” slider as well as “Master” slider
  4. Use wireless mouse and keyboard to navigate through PC to the desired material
  5. Return mouse to cradle when finished (needs to be recharged for the next class)

To Use Laptop

  1. Make sure the projector is powered on. Make sure the switcher input is set to input [2].
  2. Connect Laptop using the VGA cable on side of the cabinet
  3. Use laptop display function keys to toggle through display options (these keys vary on each laptop)
  4. Once finished, unhook cable and hang it back on the cabinet

Batteries die…computers lock up…things happen…be prepared with a backup plan

Please keep the volume at reasonable levels respect your neighbors
