How to log into the computer

To log into the Smart Classroom PC:

  • Click “Other User”
  • Enter your Mountie-Pass credentials (email username and password)
  • Guests of EOU can log onto the PC by typing: .\eouuser – no password is required
  • Be sure to log out of the public computer once you are done

Access to AV cabinet

Faculty will be given a 4 digit code by the college or by the AV department to access the AV cabinets.

To open the cabinet:

  1. Enter in the 4 digit combination.
  2. Rotate the lever to the left to unlock.
  3. Pull to open the cabinet door.

To close the cabinet:

  1. Close the cabinet door until you hear the door latch.
  2. Ensure the lever is in its original vertical position.
  3. Pull on the cabinet door to ensure it’s secured properly. repeat if it is not.

Equipment

  • Mitsubishi XD600U Projector
  • Dell Optiplex 3020 computer (IT not AV)
  • Apple Mac Mini
  • Kramer VP-729 Switcher
  • Harman AVR 520 AV Switch (sound only)
  • 6 foot screen
  • Elmo Visual Presenter
  • Surround sound

To use the PC

  • Make sure classroom projector is set to HDMI
  • On the media switch in cabinet,the VCR/DVD is set to Input 4, press 4 and wait 2-3 seconds
  • Make sure the HARMAN switch is set to “Video 1″
  • Control the sound through the HARMAN Switch

To use the Mac Mini

  • Make sure classroom projector is set to HDMI
  • On the media switch in cabinet, the Kramer is set to Input 2, press 2 and wait 2-3 seconds
  • Make sure the HARMAN switch is set to “Video 1″
  • Control the sound through the HARMAN Switch

To use the Elmo

  • Make sure classroom projector is set to HDMI
  • On the media switch in cabinet, the VCR/DVD is set to Input 3, press 3 and wait 2-3 seconds
  • Make sure the arms and camera are extended and turn on
  • Use “Tele” to zoom and “Wide” to zoom out
  • Use “Near and “Far” to focus.

Batteries die…computers lock up…things happen…be prepared with a backup plan

Please keep the volume at reasonable levels respect your neighbors
