Drawing has been a fundamental form of art making for thousands of years, yet the definition of what constitutes a work of art as drawing has become increasingly more fluid within contemporary artistic practice. The artists in this exhibit demonstrate the flexibility of mark making to embrace both traditional and experimental approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Participating artists are\u00a0Richard Cutshall of Portland, Goran Fazil of Boise, Kirsten Furlong of Boise, Reinaldo Gil of Moscow, Idaho, \u00a0J. Gordon of Shoreline, Wash., Megan Hanley of Portland, Joy Kloman of Hood River, Richard Martinez of Walla Walla, Heather McGeachy of Beaverton, Erika Rier of Portland, Cayla Skillin-Brauchle of Salem, John Whitten of Portland, and Martine Workman of Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of these artists bring a unique conceptual framework and singular approach to mark making,\u201d said Cory Peeke, the exhibit curator. \u201cThey are linked by their thoughtful engagement with their chosen medium and come together in this exhibit to demonstrate the variety of innovative drawing being done in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>See the show in the Nightingale through December 9. Gallery hours are 12-4 p.m., Monday-Friday.
